A city that works for

families starts with

leadership that lives here.

Hi there, I’m Nick Wolter. I’m a husband, father, small business owner, and lifelong Lexingtonian running for City Council to protect the neighborhoods we love and make sure the next generation can afford to stay here.

Nick Wolter, running for 5th District in Lexington, KY and his family at Ashland.

Nick Wolter is a lifelong Lexingtonian, small business owner, and father who believes in building a future his kids can grow up in—and afford—right here at home. Raised in neighborhoods across what is now the 5th District, including Plainview and Idle Hour, Nick learned early that strong communities are built on stability, trust, and neighbors looking out for one another.

Today, Nick brings that real-world experience into his campaign for the 5th District. He believes city government should work as hard and as responsibly as the people it represents—clear communication, transparency, and respect for taxpayer dollars.

Nick is running to help ensure Lexington remains a city where families can put down roots, small businesses can thrive, and the next generation has reason to stay.

What this campaign is about…

This campaign isn’t about politics.
It’s about everyday life in our neighborhoods.

It’s about being able to afford a home.
It’s about safe streets, steady infrastructure, and schools families can rely on.
It’s about city government using taxpayer dollars responsibly and communicating honestly with the people it serves.

I’m running because I want my kids, and yours, to grow up in a Lexington that feels stable, welcoming, and worth staying in.

What I’ll focus on…

Keeping Families in Lexington
Housing costs are rising faster than wages. I’ll support practical solutions that increase housing options without disrupting the character of our neighborhoods.

Protecting Neighborhood Quality of Life
From traffic and safety to aging infrastructure, neighborhoods deserve attention before problems become crises.

Respecting Taxpayer Dollars
Families run tight budgets. City government should too. I’ll push for transparency, accountability, and clear communication about where money goes and why.

Supporting Local Businesses
Small businesses are part of the fabric of our neighborhoods. When they succeed, communities are stronger.

Why I’m running…

I’m not running to climb a political ladder.
I’m running to serve the place that raised me and the people I’m raising my kids alongside.

I believe local government should listen first, speak plainly, and act responsibly. When systems aren’t working, we should fix them. When policies miss the mark, we should adjust them. And when families feel left behind, leadership should respond.

Lexington deserves leadership that’s present, grounded, and focused on community over politics.

This campaign is built on neighbors showing up for neighbors.

There’s no single way to get involved. You can volunteer, stay informed, or simply share what you’re seeing in your neighborhood. All of it matters.

Family & Community

Come First

I was raised in Lexington neighborhoods that are now part of the 5th District, including Plainview and Idle Hour. Those communities taught me that strong cities are built block by block, neighbor by neighbor.

Today, my wife and I are raising our family here. We walk our neighborhood. We use the parks. We sit in traffic. We feel rising costs just like everyone else.

That perspective matters.

City Council decisions don’t live on paper. They show up in our daily routines, our bills, and our sense of security. I believe representation starts with actually living the experience.

“This campaign isn’t about winning an election. It’s about leaving our kids a Lexington where they can afford to stay, build lives, and feel supported by their community.”
